  • Prós: This is a great cpu to get for an htpc build or home server build on a budget. I already had an lga1155 board and didn't want noise, heat or a power hog. I did however want it to run my esxi server with all my vms and this cpu does not disappoint. I have a fedora vm hosting http/plex media server...
  • Cons: 0 cons. I'm actually glad Intel made low tdp cpus for this socket. Saved me from upgrading a board.

outstanding for light usage server

  • Prós: the little devil works great and is simple to cool with large passive heat sink. mine is in a lian li mini-itx case and i sit the monitor on top of it. it doesn't make a sound and it's in the bedroom running 24x7. highly recommend it
  • Cons: none at all. no regrets so i bought a second one for another machine i built for my daughter in college.

Cool and Quiet, with low wattage and high efficiency

  • Resumo: Extremely low powered processor. I installed this in a media server I built where I had 12 SATA drives (5400RPM) and Acreca ARC-1231ML RAID adapter and this this barely made a sound. Things were cool and quiet plus at idle, 35 watts total. That's pretty amazing.

Great entry-level CPU

  • Resumo: Hard to beat for an entry-level or media PC.
  • Prós: Low price, low power consumption, low heat. Handles 1080p+ video streaming and any other basic computing tasks with ease. Much to my surprise, it could actually handle XCOM: Enemy Unknown at ~20 fps without a separate video card, so some gaming wouldn't be out of the question either, just so long...
  • Cons: None, just so long as you have realistic expectations of the performance you're going to get at this price.

  • Resumo: Straight out of the box this cpu is more than enough for my home tv pc build. The stock 2.6 GHz can handle anything, in the way of streaming, that I can throw at it. I love the Intel cpus, they are fast and dependable.
