Resumo: I always buy AMD chips. Because I am a rebel. They last a long time and never disappoint. This is the 3rd one I have bought in my life and they always outlast the mobo.
Prós: I bought this in 2011 and it's still going strong. It doesn't do well for heavy HD video editing, but that's about it. Overall an inexpensive but quality CPU for most tasks/games. I haven't tried overclocking so I don't know how that would be. I also bought a cooler (ARCTIC Freezer 7 Pro Rev. 2) ...
Cons: Not too future-proof. I wouldn't recommend this to someone in 2014 unless they were on a really tight budget.
Resumo: I can keep up with my friends in terms of benchmarks and application load and they have muich newer systems, of course mine is not "stock" speeds ;)
Prós: This chip has lasted four years and has not had a single problem. I have OC'd the **** out of it and still stands strong. very fast for day to day computing and the extra complete physical cores (no half cores or hyper threading poopoo) really show their strength in various applications . like ha...
Cons: Sometimes I wish I would have gotten the 1090T or 1100T but this does fine.
Resumo: I am a longtime AMD customer going back to the days of the 486. They've always made rock solid CPUs and this one is no exception. I purchased this one to go in a new system I built. It shipped quickly, was well packaged, was easy to install, and works great. Highly recommended!
Resumo: By now the AMD FX 8 is availible and cheap enough to bypass this one
Prós: Awesome processor, does whatever I need it to, or it did.
Cons: About a month ago, windows lost the ability to tell what kind of processor it is, and throttled it back to 800mhz. I've tried everything to get it back up to speed, but the multiplier is frozen at x4, instead of being at x15 like it should be. I even tried overclocking it using overdrive, but not...
