Resumo: In my first review of this I said that the unit shuts down when installing additional peripherals on any of the USB ports. This is no longer the case. It seems that the Shuttle's power draw spikes when installing peripherals and at the time it was connected to a faulty UPS.
Prós: Small, seemingly powerful. I'm using it as a test bench to practice configuring Server 2012 Hyper-V. I installed 16 GB RAM at full 1600 MHz and a Core i7 3770s. Using two hard drives: 1) Kingston Hyper X SSD 120 GB for OS 2) Seagate Momentus XT 500 GB Hybrid drive for data and VM's.
Cons: I wish it could handle more RAM, 16 GB is still not enough. The compartment is cramped when attempting to install memory. So how about 32 GB Shuttle? Also no extra SATA cables with regular connectors. Since USB 3.0 is backward compatible they should've placed more of those, only two USB 3.0 ports.
Resumo: Specs don't mention it, but it has two front USB ports, a front mic jack, and a front headphone jack (they're hidden inside a panel underneath the power button).
Prós: Very easy to put together; comes with clear instruction manual. Perfectly compatible with my old laptop optical drive and harddrive running Linux. Could not have asked for a better office/work computer. Small, quiet, runs cool. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a tiny desktop machine.
Cons: Have not found anything bad yet. Will it play games? Probably not, but I didn't buy it for gaming purposes.
Resumo: I use it as an esxi server, i7-3770s (can't find the i7-3770t anywhere), 16gb of ram, so far run well during my test. I put a intel 7260 wifi card in it, I have to look at how to drill the antenna hole.
Prós: small, silent, relatively easy to install
Cons: the quick install guide and the pdf manual is very basic and limited. After installing everything and make it run for one hour or so case open, I close everything , that's when I heard a 'bling, bling' noise in it. one of the mother board screw was moving free inside, I was lucky it didn't fault ...
Resumo: If that screw hadn't made a noise, the screw under the mobo would have eventually shorted something out and I would have had to RMA it.
Prós: Easy Assembly. Well thought out. The correct connectors for slim cd is already part of the unit, no need to purchase an adapter.
Cons: QC on them isn't what is should be. Built 5 of these, without incident, on the 6th when I went to turn it on I heard a snap. Was a screw in the fan blade. Odd, I hadn't lost a screw. Then I began to build the 7th and heard a screw rolling around when I tipped it. Sure enough there was a screw mis...

Resumo: Seit sicherlich 10 Jahren habe ich pers. keinen PC mehr zusammengeschraubt, es kam wie es kommen musste: ich habe nach dieser langen Abstinenz einen Barebone bestellt. Genauer: - Shuttle XH61V, dazu: - Intel i3 3220-T - 2x Kingston DDR3 1600MHz NON-ECC, 8GB (somit 16GB gesamt).
Prós: Love this little system. It's small, well thought out, quiet, cool, and quick. I even fit 2 hard drives in it by attaching a SSD below the CD ROM chassis, plenty of room. This is the easiest small footprint system I've put together, access is really very good.
Prós: I liked the form factor and everything (aside the ram) was pretty easy to install. The fat heatsink needed to move because it was hitting the fan.
Cons: It worked well for a month, but I suspect the PSU is too weak. After reading reviews here, I bought a CPU thats rated higher than its recommended (3570K) which is yes 77W at its max (over the 65W) but many reported it was fine. I am not sure if the PSU was fried by my CPU at heavy usages (I had b...
Resumo: This is the best media pc I have ever built. I installed 4Gb of ram, Intel Core i5-3570K Ivy Bridge 3.4GHz, 120GB SSD, mini PCI-e Intel Wifi Bluetooth combo with a slim Blu-Ray slot loader. This thing boots, loads Windows 7 and is ready to use in 8 seconds or less.
Prós: Small, low power usage, fast and HDMI was what I was wanting. Very well built. Low heat. There is only two fans so it is very quiet.
Cons: Have to use a CPU/GPU combo processor. Other than that, this thing is great!
